Funding Resources

A number of resources to look out for.

  • Funderfinder

Funderfinder is a software package that helps groups find potential funders. The software will ask a number of questions such as how much funding you are looking for, what the funding will be used for, who will benefit, etc. In response to these questions Funderfinder will produce a list of funders that may fund that particular project. Funderfinder is used in conjunction with funding guides, such as The Directory of Grant-making Trusts and A Guide to the Major Trusts to produce a targetted list of funders. Funderfinder also produce software designed to help groups make applications. See both:

  • Funding Central (NCVO)

NCVO have launched Funding Central, a new website aimed at being a prime source of information on funding opportunities. Launched in June - with funding from the Cabinet Office - the site initially proved to be disappointing (see the news article about first impressions) as funding was delayed while timescales were not. However, work on this website is ongoing and NCVO have taken steps to to improve and develop the site. Over time this should develop to be a major resource.

  • SOFII

SOFII is the 'Showcase of Fundraising Innovation and Inspiration' website. It contains a mass of shared resources, written by fundraisers for fundraisers.
